OVERVIEW
Column Guardian allows SharePoint site collection administrators to show/hide columns of SharePoint lists and document libraries from specified users or groups in selected list forms. There is no built-in feature available in SharePoint that would allow administrators to configure the visibility of columns in a list or library to selected users or groups. Column Guardian provides this functionality through a user-friendly interface to create and manage column display settings.
SHAREPOINT COLUMN GUARDIAN BENEFITS:
- Remove the need for custom coding for column visibility
- Gain Audience like capabilities at the column level
- Enable end users and developers to build solutions faster
- Control view of data according to users/group
SHAREPOINT COLUMN GUARDIAN FEATURES:
- Only tool available in the market that works with Content Type
- Works on all versions of SharePoint 2010, including SharePoint Foundation
- Works with almost all the SharePoint list types and document libraries, including custom lists and libraries
- Works with document sets
- Allows display settings to be configured for both Users and SharePoint Groups
- Ability to either make a column “Invisible” or “Read-Only” in the edit form
